Best Ice Pack by far, January 7, 2012

The greatest ice pack made(fort lauderdale florida)
I had a full knee replacement several months ago and was in extensive physical therapy. After each session the therapist would always apply this wonderful and comfortable ice pack on my knee. It kept the swelling down and made my knee feel so much better. I was so impressed that I asked my therapist to give me the brand and she did. I am thoroughly pleased with the product and will recommend it to anyone who might have a knee replacement. With thanks, Rodney S Hartman

Improved Design? , July 26, 2011

I have used the oversized colpac for about 8 years for chronic back and shouider pain since becoming aware of them through the place I took therapy. Thay are wonderful. The only problem I had with them is that after about a year's use (I keep two in my freezer all the time)they would split at the seam where I assume the filler clay is injected. The new ones my husband bought on line seem to have a better seal all around. I am looking forward to seeing if this design is better. They still are far better than any other like product I have used.

I suffer from back pain and these giant back packs have been a God send. When I have a bad flare up it is wonderful that I have such a great way to get relief without taking drugs.
Note: We had to put the ice packs in storage while traveling out of the country for nine months and when I tried to use them after we got back they had dried up and they were no longer gel like. We live in the desert and I read here that you have to keep them in a plastic bag and they recommend always keeping them in the freezer......so we basically ruined them. I missed them so much while we were gone and will definately reorder.

I am in therapy recovering from carpal tunnel surgery. The PT facility I use has several of these. I liked it so much I bought on to use for my home therapy. Although large, it's great because I can fold it over my hand and treat both sides at once. It also retains it's temperature a lot longer than smaller ones, and it is so much more comfortable than ice in a bag. Sturdy, too.

We became familiar with Colpac ice packs from a physical therapist after knee surgery. We have since purchased 3 of them over 15 years. The black polyurethane ice pack was recommended because the seams split on the previous two due to our type of use: laying on our backs which is not recommended. Because of our back problems, laying on our stomachs is difficult. We will see if the seams on this model last longer.

I purchased this product for my brother and his wife. They have been using it a little over a week. They say it is wonderful - molds to the body - stays cold longer-refreezes quickly. They are really enjoying this product. My brother says it is really well made.

My physical therapist suggested I get one of these years ago for back pain. This is my SECOND purchase. I take one with me when ever I have to ride in the car for too long. I could not live without it! Excellent quality. My first one is over 5 years old and is still in EXCELLENT condition.

Keep in Freezer - A Must!, July 10, 2010

Needing the Cold, But Left with the Lumps(Seattle, WA)
There should be instructions directing consumers that the colpac MUST be kept in the freezer at all times or the gel will harden. When my freezer got too full I had to take my oversized colpac out and store it in the cupboard until I had room again in the freezer. I was very disappointed that it is no longer soft and flexible, but hard and lumpy! What a waste!

It is just what I needed. I train three times a week and use this item after each workout. It stays in place and stays at optimum temperature. It is a good size and uniformly cold from end to end.

Works well for years, September 7, 2009
|
By
StLCardinal Fan(Columbia, SC)
I have used Colpac, mostly the oversized version, for nearly 20 years as part of my back exercise program. The product works as advertised, year after year, retaining cold for well over the 30 minute treatment time recommended. I have purchased six in that time, and currently have two that I use once per week or more.
Eventual failure of my Colpacs has always occurred via a small crack initiating at the edge of the seam joint on the periphery of the rectangular pack. The average life of the Colpac has ranged from 5 to 10 years from my experience, which is more than I had expected given the amount of use that they undergo.
