Tendonitis occurs when the usual smooth movement of the muscle and bone is agitated by an inflamed tendon that joins them. Caused by injury or repetitive motion, Tendonitis can cause severe pain and inflammation in many parts of the body.
Treating tendonitis is to allow the inflamed tendon to heal by avoiding and possibly discontinuing activities that involve aggravating movements. When recovery is more noticeable, the patient should try getting into an activity that involves less use of the area of the body experiencing tendonitis. The inflammation of tendonitis can be treated with anti-inflammatory, pain gels, stretching, braces, splints, supports, heat wraps, and ice packs.
